We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience and knowledge of drug metabolism and related assays to conduct activities related to biotransformation of drugs and drug candidates. This includes working together with and mentoring laboratory scientists on structural elucidation and quantification-based profiling of drug metabolites from small molecules as well as new drug modalities such as antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) and ADCs using cold or radiolabeled approaches with strong focus on delivery to drug discovery and development projects. Depending on the candidate’s previous experience and competencies the position will be at scientist or senior scientist level.

Responsibilities :

• Having a solid experience in analytical chemistry and/or in biochemistry with hands-on experience via a PhD/post-doctorate position using High Resolution Mass spectrometry platforms, you will be responsible for the design, conduct and follow up of drug metabolism studies during the discovery and development of new drugs (e.g. small molecules, oligonucleotides) by utilizing either cold or radiolabeled material from in vitro and in vivo studies to support drug design in research phases and MIST considerations in clinical phases.

• You will be responsible for the assessment of structural elucidation of metabolites from biotransformation studies on small molecule entities as well as other drug modalities (e.g. ASOs, ADCs) by using methods/instruments for the identification and quantification of drug metabolites.

• You will coordinate timelines for activities and discuss results with the project representative of project team. You will be in charge of the scientific documentation of the studies (study design, reports, databasing etc.).

• As part of the future development of the team, you will evaluate and implement new tools (in vitro and in silico) and/or technologies to expand our capabilities and enhance efficiency in the field. You will also work in accordance with the current Guidelines. 

• The candidate should demonstrate scientific creativity, teamwork and excellent verbal and written communication skills, and will contribute to the technical and scientific development of the team and to the scientific discussions within the team and the DMPK dept.
   

Description du profil :

• The eligible candidate should have a Ph. D. degree (or equivalent experience) in chemistry, biology, pharmacology, biochemistry or in pharmacy or related field, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the areas highlighted in the job description in a pharmaceutical industry environment, contract research organization or public institution.

• Hands-on experience on sample preparation and structural analysis of small molecules in complex matrix using LC-HRMS/MS. Knowledge of structural elucidation and metabolite prediction software tools is a plus.

• Experience on new drug modalities such as ASO or ADC as well as expertise in mass spectrometry imaging and/or metabolomic approaches would be a plus.

• Application of an expert understanding of DMPK, physicochemical property assays and biotransformation to support drug discovery projects as well as development studies.

• Preparation of study protocols, data summary, study reports, and SOPs.

• Experience in the design and conduct of animal and human metabolism related studies using cold as well as radiolabeled compounds would be appreciated.

• Ability to lead related activities and represent biotransformation discipline in matrix project teams.
  Excellent oral and written communication skills including good presentation skills.

  Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. 

  Prior experience mentoring junior level lab based scientists preferred.
